Nanga Parbat

Altitude:8,126 m (26,660 ft )  Nanga parbat anchorsthe Western Himalayan Range. This huge mountain is not a single peak but a series of
ridges culminating in an ice crest at 8,126m -ranked 9th highest in the world , and second in pakistan after K2.
The name Nanga Parbat is Kashmiri for naked mountain 'so called because its high slopes are bare of vegetation. in shina, the local language, the mountain is called Deomir or Diyamir meaning 'mountain of the Gods',a name derived from Devameru, the sacred mythical Mount of sanskrit cosmology.
Early disasters on Nanga Parbat gave it the nick-name Killer Mountain, 12 climbers and 18 sherpas  had died there by 1937. The mountain  was finally conquered in 1953 (one month after the ascent of Everest)  by a joint Austrian-German expedition; Hermann Buhl made the final successful ascent on 3rd july in a gruelling solo climb without oxygen.
On 13th july 1989 colonel sher khan became the first Pakistani to summit the mountain.
As of 2014 Nanga Parbat is yet to be climbed in winter, although 22 attempts, half of them by  Polish expenditions have been made so far.

Nowroz

In Northern Pakistan "Chitral, Gilgit, Hunza and Baltistan" Noroz is celebrated as a socio-religious festival. It
is also celebrated with much fervour in Balochistan and in the urban centres of Karachi and Lahore. The day coincides with the coming of spring season on March 21, but the celeberation continues for weeks. In Baltistan, the main feature of Norouz is gifting of coloured eggs to friends and playing polo, volley ball, hockey and football, westling, tug of war alongside folk dances, songs and music and exhibition of handicraft. While in Balochistan, the festival is marked with outdoor feasts, and the traditional jumping over a fire to wash away sins and usher in a fresh start. The origins of this festival are pre-Islamic and date back to when Pakistan was part of the Persian Empire for several thousand years.this is also celebrated as a way tha our first imam hazrat ali a.s has been rewarded by the imamat as a caliph of islam.our holy prophet [p.b.u.h] has given the reward.Even if they are Shia by choice, and do not have Iranian ancestry, they might want to associate themselves with the greatest Shia nation in the world, and that is Iran. Hence, they do what Iranians do i.e. that includes celebrating Nowruz.

Kunyang Chhis Peak

Kunyang Chhis Peak
Kunyang Chhish East is an impressive unclimbed peak of the Hispar Muztagh, a major sub-range of thekarakurm. It may have camparitvely small prominance compared to some of its neighbours however the south-west face is one of the most awesome specticles in the whole Karakoram in my opinion. The mountain is considered to be one of the great remaining Alpine problems yet to be summited. It forms part of Kunyang Chhish massive which also contains Kunyang Chhish Main (7852m), West (7350m), South (7620m) and North (7108m). Kunyang Chhish Main is the second highest peak in the Hispar Muztagh and 21st highest in the World.
