Nanga Parbat

Altitude:8,126 m (26,660 ft )  Nanga parbat anchorsthe Western Himalayan Range. This huge mountain is not a single peak but a series of
ridges culminating in an ice crest at 8,126m -ranked 9th highest in the world , and second in pakistan after K2.
The name Nanga Parbat is Kashmiri for naked mountain 'so called because its high slopes are bare of vegetation. in shina, the local language, the mountain is called Deomir or Diyamir meaning 'mountain of the Gods',a name derived from Devameru, the sacred mythical Mount of sanskrit cosmology.
Early disasters on Nanga Parbat gave it the nick-name Killer Mountain, 12 climbers and 18 sherpas  had died there by 1937. The mountain  was finally conquered in 1953 (one month after the ascent of Everest)  by a joint Austrian-German expedition; Hermann Buhl made the final successful ascent on 3rd july in a gruelling solo climb without oxygen.
On 13th july 1989 colonel sher khan became the first Pakistani to summit the mountain.
As of 2014 Nanga Parbat is yet to be climbed in winter, although 22 attempts, half of them by  Polish expenditions have been made so far.

Nowroz

In Northern Pakistan "Chitral, Gilgit, Hunza and Baltistan" Noroz is celebrated as a socio-religious festival. It
is also celebrated with much fervour in Balochistan and in the urban centres of Karachi and Lahore. The day coincides with the coming of spring season on March 21, but the celeberation continues for weeks. In Baltistan, the main feature of Norouz is gifting of coloured eggs to friends and playing polo, volley ball, hockey and football, westling, tug of war alongside folk dances, songs and music and exhibition of handicraft. While in Balochistan, the festival is marked with outdoor feasts, and the traditional jumping over a fire to wash away sins and usher in a fresh start. The origins of this festival are pre-Islamic and date back to when Pakistan was part of the Persian Empire for several thousand years.this is also celebrated as a way tha our first imam hazrat ali a.s has been rewarded by the imamat as a caliph of islam.our holy prophet [p.b.u.h] has given the reward.Even if they are Shia by choice, and do not have Iranian ancestry, they might want to associate themselves with the greatest Shia nation in the world, and that is Iran. Hence, they do what Iranians do i.e. that includes celebrating Nowruz.

Kunyang Chhis Peak

Kunyang Chhis Peak
Kunyang Chhish East is an impressive unclimbed peak of the Hispar Muztagh, a major sub-range of thekarakurm. It may have camparitvely small prominance compared to some of its neighbours however the south-west face is one of the most awesome specticles in the whole Karakoram in my opinion. The mountain is considered to be one of the great remaining Alpine problems yet to be summited. It forms part of Kunyang Chhish massive which also contains Kunyang Chhish Main (7852m), West (7350m), South (7620m) and North (7108m). Kunyang Chhish Main is the second highest peak in the Hispar Muztagh and 21st highest in the World.

Laila Peak

Laila Peak
Karakoram Range and has been known as a major gimmick for the tourist who are in love with nature.
Laila Peak 6,096 meters have been climbed many times. It can be climbed in five days from base camp simply. The Laila Peak its distinctive spear-like shape sticking out in the sky has attracted trekkers passing by. Laila Peak got attention in 2005, when Fredrik Ericcson and Jorgen Aamot from Scandinavian countries announced climbing along their Mountain guide (Ali Muhammad) and ski down this beautiful mountain, during their ski Gasherbrum II in 2005 they done ski on Gasherbrum. But they could not make ski on Liala from the top but they ski down from 200 meter below the summit on this beautiful mountain.  After unsuccessful ski trip Fredrik and Jorgen went up to G-2. They described its height as 6614m, and said that Laila Peak is one of the most amazing mountains they have ever seen, like a needle it points straight up in the sky. Its North West flank has a steepness of 45-50 degrees in more than 1500 vertical meters. Early in the morning they starting from base camp at 5000m they continued climbing up the slopes of Laila and at sunrise they saw the magnificent view of K2, Broad Peak and Gasherbrum, they continue for eight hours and now the terrain got steeper and steeper, only a thin layer of snow is covering the slopes. 150 meters from the summit, they felt that there is no way they could ski in these icy conditions and decided to turn around. It was more than 1500 meters vertical meters down to the bottom.
The lower part of Laila Peak is cover with soft snow; the upper part is cover with thin layer of ice, it is mixed ice climbing and rock climbing peak. From the summit one can see all the majors’ peaks of Karakoram including K-2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum’s peaks and many others. Laila Peak is the most desirable tourism point of skiers, and lovers of natural beauty. It’s a perfect place to enjoy the sightseeing in relaxing atmosphere with cool breeze of air. you need trekking permit from the Ministry of Tourism to visit the Laila Peak. The charges of permits are $50 per person and a licensed guide is also required for the duration. Once you will visit Laila peak, you will definitely understand that all your money is well paid off.

Latok Peak

Latok group of Peaks are Latok I is 7145m, Latok II is 7108m Its west face first ascent made by Toni Gutsch, Alex and Thomas Huber in 1997 (a recent Italian expedition surveyed the Latok peaks and measured Latok II higher than Latok I), Latok III 6940m, Latok IV 6456m, Latok IV SE Ca6450m. The other peaks close by are Choktoi 6166m, Baintha Brakk SE 6960m, 7285m middle, Orge Thumb / Lukphila Brakk 5500m, Spaldang 5590m, Biacherahi Towers 5900m.Latok peaks are mixture of ice and rock climbing. Not all of Latok Peaks faces are climb, there is plenty of opportunity for adventure lovers to come and make their first ascent. In 1999 the Huber brothers from Germany made the second ascent on Latok IV south 6450m in one day they also

Great trango peak

Great trango peak

Great Trango is situated in the Trango group in Pakistan's Baltoro Glacier region, one of the most remarkable mountain settings on earth. The climbing route is deceptively straightforward, ascending from the Trango glacier to the summit of Great Trango. The climbing is only moderately technical making this expedition an ideal first foray to higher altitudes or simply a wonderful experience for climbers wanting a taste of the best that the Himalaya can offer without the extreme altitude.Great trango is located in pakistan its hight  is about 20623 ft.

Baltoro Glacier

Baltoro Glacier
The Baltoro Glacier, at 57 kilometers long, is one of the longest glaciers outside of the polar regions. It is located in Baltistan, in the Northern Areas of Pakistan, and runs through part of the Karakoram mountain range. The Baltoro Muztagh lies to the north and east of the glacier, while the Masherbrum Mountains lie to the south. At 8,611 m (28,251 ft), K2 is the highest mountain in the region, and three others within 20 km top 8,000 m.
The glacier gives rise to the Shigar River, which is a tributary of the Indus River. Several large tributary glaciers feed the main Baltoro glacier, including the Godwin Austen Glacier, flowing south from K2; the Abruzzi and the various Gasherbrum Glaciers, flowing from the Gasherbrum group of peaks; the Vigne Glacier, flowing from Chogolisa, and the Yermandendu Glacier, flowing from Masherbrum. The confluence of the main Baltoro Glacier with the Godwin Austen Glacier is known as Concordia; this location and K2 base camp are popular trekking destinations.
The trough of this glacier is very wide and its central part is a vast snowfield. Small valley glaciers form icefalls where they meet the trunk glacier. The sidewalls vary from very steep to precipitous. The glacier has carved striations on the surrounding country rocks. Moving ice has formed depressions, which serve as basins for numerous glacial lakes. The glacier can be approached via the important Balti town of Skardu.

Rakaposhi Peak

Rakaposhi Peak in Nagar Valley

Rakaposhi  is a mountain in the Karakoram mountain range in Pakistan . It is situated in the Nagar Valley approximately 100 km north of the city of Gilgit. Rakaposhi means "shining wall" in the local language. Rakaposhi is also known as Dumani ("Mother of Mist").

K2 Peak

K2 Peak
K2 (also known as Chhogori/QogirKetu/Kechu, and Mount Godwin-Austen) is the second-higest mountain on Earth, after Mount Everest. It is located on the border between Baltistan, in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of northern Pakistan and the Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomus Country of Xinjiang, China. With a peak elevation of 8,611 m (28,251 feet), K2 is the highest point of the Karakorum Ranges and the highest point in Pakistan.
K2 is known as the Savage Mountain due to the extreme difficulty of ascent and the second-highest fatality rate among the eight thousanders. For every four people who have reached the summit, one has died trying. It is more hazardous to reach K2 from the Chinese side; thus, it is mostly climbed from the Pakistani side. Ulike Annapurna, the mountain with the highest fatality-to-summit rate, K2 has never been climbed in winter.

Biafo Glacier

Biafo Glacier

116 km glacier area, which is the largest continuous glaciel system out side of the polar icecaps. It is arguably the most challenging and rewarding area in the Karakorum for trekkers and mountaineers. Biafo Glacier (60 km. long) and Hispar Glacier (61 km. long) meet at the 5151 m. Hispar Pass to form one of the longest glacial systems outside the polar regions. his highway of ice connects two ancient mountain kingdoms; Nagar in the west with Baltistan in the east. At the base of Hispar Pass on its eastern flank rests Snow Lake, a basin of ice (16 km. wide) surrounded by granite pinnacles yet to be climbed. Glaciologists have conducted various experiments on the lake and have found the ice to be approximately 1.6 km. deep. Some go as far as to say that Snow Lake represents the last of the original ice cap in the earth's temperate zones.

Lady Finger Peak

Lady Finger Peak
Ladyfinger Peak, is a distinctive rock spire in the Batura Muztagh, the westernmost subrange of the Karakoram range in Pakistan. It lies on the southwest ridge of the Ultar Sar massif, the most southeasterly of the major groups of the Batura Muztagh. The whole massif rises precipitously above the Hunza Valley to the southeast. Bublimotin, while having little prominence above the saddle with nearby Hunza Peak, is particularly notable for being a sharp, relatively snowless rock spire among snow peaks. This, combined with its height above the valley, makes it quite eye-catching; hence the distinctive name. It provides a 600 m (1830 ft) rock climb (with a very serious alpine approach) and has been the scene of some notable paraglidi.

Golden Peak

Golden Peak in    NagarValley

Spantik or Golden Peak is a mountain in Spantik-Sosbun Mountains subrange of Karakoram. Its northwest face features an exceptionally hard climbing route known as the "Golden Pillar".It lies east of Diran and northeast of Malubiting. The name Golden Peak is called so, because of its Golden colour

Climbing

Spantik was first climbed in 1955 by Karl Kramer's German expedition. The most commonly climbed line follows the south east ridge, which was attempted by the Bullock Workman party in 1906. The ridge rises 2700 metres over a lateral distance of 7.6 km, at angles which are mostly less than 30 degrees, with a few sections up to 40 degrees. It contains varied terrain, from rocky outcrops to snow and ice and scree.

Diran Peak

Diran Peak Nagar  Valley
The peak is called Minapin as well as Diran. It is situated in Rakaposhi and Haramosh mountain region near the Minapin, Hinarchi and Baultar glaciers and is easily accessible because of the Karakoram Highway. There is confusion about its height but now all agree that it is 7,273m. Height, it is one of the fascinating peaks that dominates the Gilgit valley and adds special color to its otherwise rugged beauty.
A three-member Austrian expedition, which included Rainer Goschl, Rudolph Pischinger and Hanns Schell, decided to try its luck on Minapin in 1968 after being refused permission to climb Kampire Dior peak. It set up camp I at 4,800m. Big crevasses, inclement weather and deep snow is recorded between camps I and II. It was from camp Ill that the party was able to reach the peak which it termed as a “big summit plateau”. The 1958-British expedition to Diran peak failed to climb it from north-west face because its leader, E.G.C. Warr and a member, F.C. Hoyte, were struck by storm and disappeared when only 300 feet from the summit. In 1959, a German Karakoram expedition, under the leadership of Hans Jochen Schneider, wanted to carry out a geological and geophysical survey in Batura glacier area. It was refused permission. Consequently, it turned its attention to Minapin - Rakaposhi area. On the 9th June, one member, Erwin Stocker, and one porter reached an 18,000-foot-col situated to the north of Minapin. Subsequently, the party could reach a place which was less than one thousand feet short of north-west face of the summit. In 1964, an Austrian expedition from Salzburg attempted to climb the peak from the north-west face but was unsuccessful because of bad weather and danger of avalanches. The party had only three climbers. In 1965, a Japanese expedition of Kyoto Mountaineering Federation attempted to climb the peak. Earlier, in 1963 two of its members had reconnoitered the peak. The party was only 250ft from the summit on north-west face when it had to abandon the climb because of ‘strong winds and whirring snow.

Broad Peak

Broad Peak
Broad Peak also known as K3 is the 12th Higest Mountain on the earth, with an elevation of 8,0.51 meters (26414ft) it is located about 8 kilometer (5.0 mi) from K2.it has a summit over 1.5 kilometers (0.93 mi) long, thus "Broad Peak". the first acent of Broad Peak was made on june 9,1957 by fritz Wintersteller .Marcus schmuck ,Kurt Diemberger and Hermann Bhul of an Astrlian expedition led by Marcus schmuck . this was also accomplished without the aid of supplemental Oxygen or high altitude Porters and without base camp support. in july 2007 an Austrlian Mountaineering team climb Broad Peak with the aim of retrieving the corpse of Markus Kronthaler who had died on Mountain one year before from over 8,000. meters.in the winter and summer 2009 there were no summit.there was one winter expedition by a polish-canadian team.

Karakurm Ranges

The 300 miles long and 60 miles wide Karakorum Range begins at
Chilinji, south east of Wakhjir Pass and stretches up to the Indian occupied disputed territory of Ladakh beyond Sicachen Glacier to
the Western extremities of Tibet in China. The Turkish word Kara-korum
mean “black rock” is thought to have originated from Tethys Sea some 50
